I feel like it has been a heavy week for so many of us already, with 9/11 yesterday and the arrival of hurricane Florence only a day away, so I thought I would keep today’s post simple and try to brighten this rainy Wednesday morning by simply sharing some of my favorite foyers and entryways.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you know I have an obsession with table lamps, mirrors and rugs. So, it should come as no surprise that my favorite spaces in any home are foyers and entry ways since they usually include at least two of the three. I love a good foyer, whether it’s in a house, a museum or even a restaurant and I am always stopping and snapping pics for inspiration, in other words looking like a crazy person in public places on a regular basis. I am a big believer that there is legitimacy behind the phrase “the first impression is the last impression” and it is no different for a home. Foyers and entryways set the expectations for the design of any house and I think I speak for everyone when I say that when you walk into someone’s home for the first time and their entryway and/or foyer is gorgeous, you are already formulating plans in your mind of how you can get a full house tour. When writing this post I literally had to cut myself off from adding pictures. There are so many gorgeous foyers and especially with the help of Pinterest, I’m pretty sure I could have featured my favorite 100 so I had to try to exercise true self restraint with my selections.
For all of those in Florence’s path, my thoughts are prayers are with you and your loved ones. Stay safe.
