Dear Keaton is an e-commerce brand that promotes resort living, every day. Dear Keaton

We are a woman-owned small business based in Atlanta, Georgia, and we embrace a philosophy of honoring the beauty of the diverse world around us. Many of our globally sourced products are artisan-made, sustainable and fair trade, offering an opportunity to make a positive impact on the world around us with each purchase, too. Now more than ever, we believe that with intention, we can fill our homes with more meaningful wares.

Embracing the look and feel of resort living every day is easier than it sounds. Today, I’m thrilled to share 6 steps to achieve the resort look at home, with links to some of my favorite finds on Dear Keaton to help you get the look.

Start with rattan and cane

Texture, texture, texture! I’ve found that both rattan and cane immediately usher in a coastal feel to any space. I love using rattan and cane furniture in the home because these textural pieces lend an airy, organic vibe – and cane quite literally lets the light in. They’re staples in so many resort-inspired spaces. I like to think that there’s always some nostalgia tied to travel too, and love rattan’s nod to the Jetset era.

WEAVE IN ARTISAN TEXTILES

Artisan textiles always channel the delicious, relaxed pace of coastal living for me. Some of my favorites include the gorgeous hand block printed textiles by Walter G and textural woven pillows from Azulina. Our curated collection includes punchy patterns and fresh colors that mix and match beautifully. Weaving in these rich textile details creates depth and interest beyond the mundane and ordinary. These are also easy details to change and update over time whenever wanderlust hits.

Make an inviting bed

Dear Keaton

Is there anything better than falling into a luxurious hotel bed? That welcoming feel of clean linen sheets truly cannot be beat. That feeling inspired me to add our linen bedding collection from Pom Pom Home. Their bedding evokes such a sense of romanticism, peaceful memories, and gentleness. Their bedding is elegant and effortless. You’ll feel like you’re waking up on a vacation every day, I promise!

Display baskets and unique objects

Globally inspired baskets and interesting objects are some of my favorite ways to infuse personality into a space. The textures, shapes, details, and stories of these items can be such a special addition to your decor. And of course, these items may even include treasures you’ve brought back from your favorite vacations, too.

You can easily nail that faraway-boutique-hotel vibe by carefully curating (and editing) these items in your space. The key is to style and then actively edit the displays to maintain a truly intentional look. When you focus on the habit of editing these items frequently, you’re able to keep the space feeling fresh and like a different getaway that you can continually enjoy over time.

Don’t Forget about Lighting

Lighting can play a huge role in achieving the feeling of being at your favorite resort. Think big windows, large verandas, and French doors – these all can be found in rooms that are soaked in natural light. Take advantage of that soft natural light as much as possible. And then consider how you can complement your space with versatile pendant lighting and targeted accent lighting.

Splurge on your favorite spa essentials

One of the best things about being on vacation is taking a break from your typical bath time routine. I love the idea of finding a signature scent that whisks you away mentally. Even the simplest details like luxe hand lotion and fragrant candles can feel like big upgrades from the every day. One of my current faves is Cashmere and Fig from Lightwell Co.

I’d love to hear what you do to channel those vacation vibes at home – and see how you’re embracing #resortlivingeverday too.
